Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan
“We are so excited about the launch of the new, beautiful site and the ability to maintain and update the content ourselves.”
Jeannette Porter-Tarcha, Public Relations Manager
Challenge
The Make-A-Wish Foundation strives to grant the wishes of children with
life-threatening medical conditions. As the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan
celebrated its 20th Anniversary, the group wanted to launch a new website. They wanted a site that would encourage
visitors to donate time or money, attend an event, or refer a child. They also wanted the site to support their brand by
combining optimism with seriousness.
Additionally, Make-A-Wish uses their
website to publish several monthly press releases, two quarterly newsletters and notices of several upcoming events. They sought a way to update the site that used the skills of a few internal staff members, rather than the efforts of a third party.
Collaboration
Thread proposed a well-designed,
easy-to-navigate website that would inspire visitors and support the Make-A-Wish mission. We worked closely with the
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan to organize the site’s content. Using their suggestions and requirements, Thread created a workable site structure that was
organized, functional, and engaging to users. The site remained simple, which allows Make-A-Wish staff members to
easily update and add content. This maintains freshness while preserving the site’s
structural integrity.
Solution
The website launch was a complete
success, and Make-A-Wish now has the online presence that they always wanted. The site showcases their wonderful work with children in Michigan. It highlights the corporate donors that help make the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan a success. And it allows volunteers and donors to choose how they can help
support Make-A-Wish. Plus, Make-A-Wish staff members are able to update site
content at any time using Macromedia’s Contribute program.
